Ivor Abrahams, RA ( born 1935) is internationally renowned as a sculptor and printmaker. He was born in Wigan and studied in London at St Martins School of Art 1952-53 and Camberwell School of Art 1954-57. He had his first exhibition at Gallery One, London in 1962, and was an influential figure in the British Pop Art movement. Abrahams is primarily a sculptor. In the mid-1970s he acquired a house in the South of France and the landscape and culture of the area became the inspiration for a series of works on water-based imagery, featuring bathers and nymphs. Ivor Abrahams was elected a Royal Academician in 1991.
The present work, an original lithograph, is pencil signed, dated 1983 and numbered 45 of 50 prints. It was published by the Royal College of Art, and is in very good unframed condition, save for a light crease upper right corner...
