Mychael Barratt, RE (born 1961, Toronto) is a Canadian born painter and printmaker who studied art at the Symposium School of Art, Winnipeg and at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax. He came to London in 1984, meaning to stay for a brief period, but instead settled in UK. He worked initially as a freelance illustrator and studied etching at Central St Martins School of Art in London before becoming a full time printmaker in 1991. Mychael Barratt has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, and is a member of Greenwich Printmakers Association and also of the South Bank Printmakers. He was elected a member of The Federation of Canadian Artists 1998, a member of The Royal Society of Painter / Printmakers 1999 and then a fellow of that prestigious society (the RE) in 2002.
The present work is an original hand coloured etching with aquatint, pencil signed, titled 'La Belle Epoque' and editioned 96 out of 100 prints. It measures about 9.5 x 13 inches image size and about 15 x 18.7 inches sheet size on good quality Somerset watermarked paper.
