Richard Bawden, RWS, RE, NEAC (born 1936 Essex,son of Edward Bawden) is a painter and printmaker, mainly producing
watercolours, etchings and linocuts. He studied at Chelsea and St Martin's Schools of Art and later at the Royal College of Art, London. He has exhibited extensively, including at the Royal Academy, and is a member of the prestigious Royal Watercolour Society, New English Art Club, and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. He has had many solo shows in the UK and overseas and his
work is held in numerous public collections, including the Tate Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
The present work is an original etching with aquatint, pencil signed, dated (19)88, titled 'Bryanston' and numbered 24 from an edition
of 150 etchings. The subject is the well known Bryanston School, situated near to Blandford Forum in Dorset. The etching is in good condition, with strong colour retention, and is hinged lightly to a paper backboard ready for framing.
