This is a fine quality teak dining table made by France & Son of Denmark. We haven't been able to trace the identity of the designer but we believe the table is likely to be by Peter Hvidt. It has the maker's marks to the underside and dates to the 1960s. It was acquired from a store in London in circa 1969 and has been in single owner use over the past forty years or so. As a consequence of regular use it does have signs of wear and tear, especially to the table top. We have had it polished prifessionally, but only lightly in order to preserve the nice patina. The table measures: L - 140 cm (central section only)L (overall) - 250 cm (when leafs in place)W - 90 cms Ht - 72.5 cm (to table top) It has a leaf at each end which retract underneath the table top when not in use. Each leaf is 55 cm and thus when fully extended the table measures 250 cm in length. The table seats 8 comfortably although there should be room to seat 10.
