Vintage leather armchair by de Sede, 1980's ca, Switzerland.  Brown quality leather upholstery.  

The natural grain side of the hide is referred to as nappa leather, which is between 1.2 and 1.8 mm thick.  Unsplit leather has a thickness of 5 mm which requires the finest craftsmanship to work.  De Sede is one of the few manufacturers worldwide that makes use of this material. 
 
Exquisite hand-crafted details, such as the visible seams of the leather further enhance the elegance of the design.  The gentle creasing of the leather softens the model's lines and gives the pieces a ' light informal' look.

Very comfortable as each piece has a middle cushion for the lower back.  Very good condition with great age related patina.
