This original etching is by the Glasgow born printmaker Thomas Walsh (born 1938). It is pencil signed by the artist 'Thomas Walsh ARE' lower right (he was at the time an Associate of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers) and it is titled lower left 'Canal Barges'. Although not dated we think it likely to have been executed in or about the late 1960s. The condition of the print appears to be good overall although we have not examined it out of its relatively modern frame. It is a strong impression and there are no signs of damage save for a small stain at the upper left corner which is noticeable on close inspection. The frame is in satisfactory order but the mount does have some staining to the lower edge and may benefit from replacement.
