John Brunsdon, RE, ARCA (born 1933) is widely acknowledged as being one of Britain's finest contemporary printmakers. His work is held in many public collections, including the Tate Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
We have a group of large early etchings by John Brunsdon, mainly abstract expressionist work from the 1960s. The present work titled 'Moonlit' is an original etching with aquatint which we believe dates from the the late 1960s. The print measures about 23.6 x 17.7 inches image size, and is pencil signed, titled and numbered 22 of 50. Although not examined out of the frame, the etching appears to be in excellent condition with strong colours and no foxing or other visible damage. The silver coloured frame suits the etching well but it does have some minor losses...
