Description: Alison Smith was a Sussex based painter and printmaker, whom we understand died circa 2005. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Painter Etchers, and lived for many years in Eastbourne.

The present work is a framed original etching measuring about 14.7 x 17.7 inches image size. It is pencil signed by the artist, dated 1973, titled 'Night' and numbered 1 from a very small edition of 10 prints. On the reverse the artist has written her address, the title of the work, and there is some exhibition information in relation to this etching. We are not certain that it was exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy but it certainly was shown at the Royal Society of Painter Etchers annual exhibition in 1973, priced at £16. The etching is in good condition but the mount would benefit from replacement as it has several marks. The silver coloured frame is the original and although it has some signs of wear and tear it is perfectly serviceable...
